Jennifer S. Tier has a passion for family and matrimonial law to which she has dedicated her entire career. Jennifer is a highly skilled litigator and negotiator with a reputation for diligence and attention to details. Her practice involves all stages of divorce and parentage disputes, including pre- and post-marital agreements, allocation of parental decision-making and parenting time, the financial analysis of dividing assets, business valuations, and spousal and child support matters.
“I approach all of my cases with honesty and a strategic plan to meet my client’s goals. I excel at triaging a case because I look at the larger picture of the matter.” Jennifer prefers to help clients on a personal level, and her clients appreciate her calm professionalism as she guides them through difficult times. She most enjoys the analysis and complexity of family law’s balance between legal and emotional issues, as well as the financial and tax matters related to divorce. “Family law is fascinating to me because it touches on so many different areas of the law. At the same time, I understand that I am assisting clients through an extremely emotional time. This intersection requires that I be dynamic not only in my knowledge of the law but also my ability to provide emotional support to best serve my clients.”
Jennifer and her husband, also an attorney, live on Chicago’s North Shore with their two “high energy” boys. They enjoy cooking, entertaining family and friends, lively debates, and showing their boys the wonders Chicago has to offer. “My family is my priority, so I understand the importance my clients place on their families. Family is at the forefront of my mind while I advocate for my clients.”
