Sylvie’s passion for assisting children and families led her to pursue a career in divorce and family law. Sylvie focuses her practice on complex financial matters and child custody matters, including cases related to the dissolution of marriage, property distribution, allocation of parental responsibilities and decision-making, post-decree modifications and enforcement, maintenance, child support, in addition to order of protection matters. Sylvie is well regarded for her strong writing, research, and communication skills.
Prior to joining Davis Friedman as an attorney, Sylvie served as a law clerk for the firm gaining experience with complex high-asset cases. During law school, she further honed her skills in divorce, parentage, and order of protection matters while working with survivors of domestic violence at both Legal Aid Chicago and Ascend Justice.
Prior to law school, Sylvie was a teacher. Her experiences working with children and their families coupled with her personal experiences—as she herself is a product of divorce—motivated her to embark on a career in divorce and family law.
Sylvie earned her Juris Doctorate from Chicago-Kent College of Law in 2024. While at Chicago-Kent, she earned a Certificate in Public Interest Law and served as an active member of the Moot Court Honor society, and the President of the Child and Family Law Society. During Sylvie’s time in law school, she made Dean’s List every semester and received CALI awards in four classes: Constitutional Law; Criminal Procedure; Professional Responsibility; and Domestic Violence Law, Policy and Community Engagement.
